Apoquel 3.6 mg Tablets is a fast-acting, allergic itch-relief treatment for dogs designed to control pruritus associated with atopic and allergic dermatitis. With anti-inflammatory properties, these easy-to-administer tablets start working within 4 hours of administration and ensure relief from itching within 24 hours.
Apoquel for dogs is formulated with Oclacitinib (3.6 mg), a synthetic Janus Kinase (JAK) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the functions of various pruritogenic and pro-inflammatory cytokines. This hinders the activities of JAK1 or JAK3(itch-causing enzymes) and provides prompt relief by preventing the transmission of the itch signal to the brain.
Directions
- Weigh your pet to know the right dosage.
- Apoquel tablets may be administered with or without food.
- The recommended dosage for Apoquel is 0.18 to 0.27 mg oclacitinib/lb (0.4 to 0.6 mg oclacitinib/kg) body weight.
- Give the tablet twice daily, orally, for up to 14 days.
- After that, administer once daily for maintenance.
